Technology, communication, teamwork, choice of clothing – plenty of angles to explore during school lessons.

Tailored Lessons

For primary education, we offer various school trips and educational programs. We also organize informative projects for secondary education.

The National Rescue Museum can make the story of rescuers accessible to education in many forms. We collaborate with schools to align with ongoing school themes. Our museum educator is eager to bring the museum into the classroom! We can bring highlights, or schools can book the traveling exhibition "Helderse Heroes."

Presentation or Project

Are you preparing a presentation or working on a project? Do you want to tackle an exciting and daring topic? Request our presentation kit for free! You'll receive information about the history of life-saving, the work of KNRM, the Coast Guard, the Lifeguard Service, and other organizations focused on water safety. Of course, there's also information about the National Rescue Museum and our historical lifeboats.

Children's Birthday party in Den Helder

Do you want to experience a fantastic children's party? Come to the National Rescue Museum in Den Helder. That will definitely be a cool adventure! There is a lot to do in the museum. In our wind tunnel you can feel how strong wind force 10 feels. Experience the wild sea in our sailing simulator. You can also learn to sail with the Heroes Game or send a message in Morse!

We're sure of it: this will be the most enjoyable children's party in North Holland!

During your children's party you have access to the museum. All children receive a special birthday bag with a birthday treasure hunt and a small gift. During the sailing season you can come along on the boat and otherwise we will get out our craft supplies. Do you like to make a pair of binoculars, paint a lifeboat or fold a boat? We are happy to put together a program with your parent(s).

Activities in School Holidays

During school holidays, we have plenty of extra activities. For instance, you can learn knots from a real skipper, make your own Sou'wester hat, paint a lifeboat, or wander through the museum on an exciting treasure hunt. Will you be visiting with your father, mother, brother, or sister?
