Den Helder is surrounded by water, so it’s no surprise that the city is home to two museums centered on the sea: the National Rescue Museum Dorus Rijkers and the Navy Museum. Both are wonderful museums with their own unique stories. Want to visit both? The combo ticket makes it possible at a reduced price.

Willemsoord


Both the National Rescue Museum Dorus Rijkers and the Navy Museum are located at Willemsoord. This site was once the shipyard and maintenance yard of the Royal Navy.

After an extensive restoration of the various buildings, you can now find restaurants, the De Kampanje theater, and the Kinepolis cinema there.
